Milford Quarry Oddities- 4/21/07

After our drive through of Taunton State and our strike out at Dever, we decided to head over to the Milford Quarries. Upon our arrival there was a bunch of new development where WigNig last knew how to get to the quarry. We headed into the woods in search of the quarries when we ran into a small concrete and stone abandoned house with metal bars on the windows and heavy steel doors. We explored around it for a little while and after I climbed the roof we headed off into the woods again in search of our original destination. A little further into the woods we found three large concrete dam looking objects. They descended in size but even the smallest was over 10 feet tall and 5 feet wide at the bottom. WigNig and I climbed around on them for a while before once again heading into the woods. A bit further in, "Righty"(for lack of a better name, sorry dude) found what appeared to be some sort of concrete dugout with an empty concrete room built into a hill. There were some kind of gears laid out every 10 feet all down the dugout. I have no idea what it was or was used for but it was interesting none the less. We headed back into the woods finally arriving at our destination. Im sick of writing, so heres the photos. -PunkUE Out
